HELP is a tool for planning, tracking and presenting your English learning journey at the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST).
Please login to access HKUST's English Learning Portfolio. You must be a registered user before you can login.

Self Introduction

A Self-introduction is a brief description of yourself. It should include information of interest to those who don't already know you. You can include photos and graphics too. You can share your Self-introduction with others. Your Self-introduction will be included in all Profiles of your English learning.

Records

This section includes records of English courses completed and in progress at HKUST. You can also include other records of other English courses or qualifications. Your records will be included in all Profiles of your English learning.

Routes to Success

Your Routes to success are maps or plans of your English learning experiences. You can choose to include these in a Profile of your English learning. You can share your maps with others.

Reflections

Reflections are your thoughts on your English learning experience. You should tag your reflections. You can share your reflections with others. You can choose to include reflections in a Profile of your English learning.

Evidence

This section should include samples of your work. It might also include record forms for particular language learning activities. All this is evidence of your English learning experiences. You should tag your evidence. You can share evidence with others. You can choose evidence to include in a Profile of your English learning.

Links

Link to other websites that support your language learning. You can share links with others. Some of these, such as VELA or MyWords you might choose to include in a Profile of your English learning.

Profiles

A Profile is a way to present or display your English learning. You create Profiles for different purposes and audiences. Some items from your portfolio will automatically appear in a Profile. Other items you choose to include. You specify who you want to share Profiles with.

Sharing & Feedback

Sharing means allowing another person to read a part or parts of your portfolio. You might want to ask this person for feedback or comments on this part of your portfolio. You can choose to include feedback in a Profile of your English learning.
